Setting Intentions for the Summer Solstice
Community Activate sends positive vibrations into their community.
Community Activate, a West Brighton non profit focusing on Health and Wealth initiative's in NYCs hardest hit neighborhoods, marked the official start of summer with a powerful and serene Sound Bath this past Saturday on the picturesque Great Lawn of Saint Mary's Episcopal Church on Castleton Avenue. Led by the organization’s Health & Wellness Specialist, Lexi Aguilar of Epu Touch, the immersive sound bath ceremony utilized therapeutic vibrations from crystal singing bowls, gongs, and chimes. Participants were guided into deep meditation, allowing the resonant frequencies to promote healing, reduce stress, and collectively set positive intentions for the summer season ahead.
"The Summer Solstice is a promising time of year, allowing us to harness positive energy
and light into our own neighborhoods," said Aguilar. The event highlighted the strong spirit of partnership. Saint Mary's Episcopal Church
generously hosted attendees on their Great Lawn, embodying their commitment to serving as a welcoming hub for neighborhood unity, through wellness and spirit. "Setting
Intentions was exactly what we had hoped," said Ann Marie Selzer, a founder of
Community Activate. "Bringing people together across generations and backgrounds, sharing a moment of peace and collective intention through sound, was powerful. We're grateful to Saint Mary's for their partnership and to every community member who joined us to literally vibrate positivity into Staten Island for the summer."
It was a day fulfilled with dynamic offerings including breath work by Micheal Stipkala of
the Art of Living. Both seasoned “bathers” and beginners of all diverse abilities
participated in this very thoughtful approach to inclusion for all.
